A celebration of what makes our city unique, students took on a multi-step project: first, brainstorming Portland landmarks and icons, drawing and transferring the design to a foam sheet, then finally rolling ink on the block and printing onto heavy watercolor paper. Print of the original collage made by Ms. D'Aurora's (2022-2023) 5th grade class. Inspired by the work of fabric designer Alison Glass, students used fine ink markers with stencils of bugs and botanicals on heavy watercolor paper, then cut each design closely. Assembled into a color wheel collage with 3-dimensional elements, this cheerful piece will perk up your wall both with its lively subject and vibrant hues. 8 x 10 print in 11 x 14 black frame.

Print of the orignial gridded drawing/painting by Ms. Webb's (2022-2023) 5th grade class. An image (unknown to the students) was gridded and cut into “tiles”, and each student in Webb’s 5th grade class was given one or more tiles to reproduce at a larger scale with pencil. Once assembled, the “Portland, Oregon Old Town” Stag sign was revealed. Finished with watercolor pencils, the landmark really comes to life! 10 x 8 print in 14 x 11 black frame.
